Lauren here, excited to be taking over the December edition of Conscious Buys where I’ll be sharing my own holiday gifting list. I spend months searching for the most unique finds to share with my friends every year. This holiday, I am so honored to share it with you in the final edition of our Conscious Buys series for 2016. I hope you find something truly special here.

Wooden Serving Tray, FEED + west elm
There is one gift I return to every year because, well, everyone loves it. Ready for my secret? Pair a simple wooden serving board (this one gives meals to Americans in need) with a bottle of wine and some yummy cheese. Throw in an Apron if you're really trying to win Best Gifter.

Slumber Sloth, Slumberkins
Words cannot do justice to the cuteness of this soft little friend. I'm so excited to give it to James this year, but I also kind of secretly want my own. The founders are a duo of mamas that handmake each one, and I could not love them more.

Halston Mugs, The Citizenry
Another winner from one of my favorite artisan brands, The Citizenry. These dipped glaze mugs are functional as they are beautiful, constructed with an easy-to-hold handle and available in a variety of sizes, depending on the level of your coffee addiction (not ashamed to admit that I ordered the large size). I love the story behind them even more than I love the design.

Mukopa Candle, Prosperity Candle
I’m all about these candles for many reasons, not least of which is the customization that comes with every order experience. Since I’m not a fan of overwhelming fragrances, I really appreciate that you can both choose a custom scent, and its strength, at checkout. Each candle provides employment to women living in refugee camps, many of whom you can read about on their site.

Dupatta Ameira, Matta
The Matta store in SoHo is one of my favorite New York City reprieves. I picked up this gorgeous scarf last time I was there and couldn’t put it down. Hand dyed with an eye-catching pop of color in the tassels, the Dupatta would make a lovely gift for any of the lovely women in my life. I’m not going to tell which one I’m getting this for this year.

Blue Chambray Tiny TOMS
You know the drill by now: for every pair of TOMS shoes you purchase, you’ll donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. With a one-year-old of my own this year, I’m really into the idea of bringing our littlest babes into that mission with their first pair of shoes.

The Book of Symbols, Your local bookstore (or Amazon)
A unique coffee table book is my go-to gift for the person who seemingly has everything. I am obsessed with this beautiful book exploring symbols and their meanings throughout history. It’s surprisingly readable and represents images from all parts of the world and all eras of history.

Adventure Bracelet, Soko
When friends ask me for artisan jewelry recommendations, I always recommend Soko. Not only are the pieces uniquely modern for an artisan brand, but the company’s revolutionary model increases artisans’ income in the regions where they work by up to five times industry standard. This pretty adventure bracelet would be a great stocking stuffer.

The Hayley Beanie, Krochet Kids
I think I might have been one of Krochet Kids’ first customers. I love their mission to provide training and employment to women in Uganda and Peru. This hat would be a great gift for my little sis if she didn’t live in Sunny LA. I think a have a few east coasters who would love it just as much.

Cable-knit throw, Boll & Branch
I’ve gifted this knit throw once or twice this year already. It is just so soft and cozy with a great weight, and I feel proud giving it knowing it is both eco-friendly and fair-trade certified.

Salt and Pepper, Heath Ceramics
These sweet shakers are perfection. I plan to stock up on a few colors for holiday party host gifts and keep the light blue for my own kitchen table. Heath is always a go-to gifting site for me. They have the prettiest, handmade pieces that somehow fit every style.

Phlur Fragrance
So many of my friends are talking about this new perfume brand. Their model is really neat—all about personalization with a commitment to making fragrance more of an experience than a product. Since perfume is such a personal thing, I’ll be buying a gift experience for my Secret Santa.

Rosa Clutch, FEED
Our design team really nailed it on the Rosa Clutch—woven leather trim, gold foiling and an interior pop of pattern makes it a really special gift for those who really strive to merge fashion and mindfulness.

Coin Purse, FEED
I had to throw this small leather coin purse in since it’s the perfect stocking stuffer! I love that even though it’s a tiny gift, it still has a big impact. Each one gives 25 school meals.
