Over the years, we've found you, our passionate community, wanting to go "beyond the bag" and further get involved in the fight against world hunger. So last summer we cooked up a new way to make a difference called FEED Supper, a return to simple moments that taps into the core of what we believe:
That food nourishes our bodies and our souls. That we should come together at the table, bound by a common humanity that embraces the right for all people everywhere to be able to eat. That by intentionally sharing a meal with the people we love, we can also donate a meal to those we have yet to meet. That food has the power to bring many together. And together, we have the power to bring food to many.
Last year our goal was to raise 1 million meals through grassroots Suppers from September 16th to October 16th, which is World Food Day. We're proud to say, thanks to our FEED community and support of friends from Daphne Oz and Glamour to Ali Larter and InStyle and Gail Simmons, we surpassed that and, this year, plan to double our fundraising during that same time period to collectively provide 2 million meals to children and families around the world. (it was also quite the honor to be named one of Fast Company's "World's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies of 2015" in Live Events for FEED Supper!).
Once again, we're inviting individuals like you and partners like west elm, Le Pain Quotidian, Food52, Bon Appetit, Gail Simmons, Chrissy Teigen, Joy Cho of Oh Joy! to come together to “Truly Share a Meal."
So consider yourself cordially invited to host your own gathering for good! Sign up to be a host (and find oodles of entertaining and cooking inspiration!) right here on our blog, starting this Thursday, August 20.
