Letter from Lauren: June
With the passing of the summer solstice and my birthday – the big 3-7 – the end of June is the sweet spot of the year for me. And what a joyful summer it is already, being vaccinated and more free to move about and see family and friends. Thank you to science for making that possible.
It’s a joy to see my boys all growing like weeds, running around barefoot, and trying new things. Kids really do sprout more in the summer, truly thriving on the warm air and longer days. I’m soaking up every minute of it.
Wishing everyone a joyful summer ahead!
Here are a few things I've been loving & living in this past month
A few books I’ve loved lately to add to your summer reading list:
- “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett
- “A Children’s Bible: A Novel” by Lydia Millet
- “Hamnet” by Maggie O’Farrell
- “Between Two Kingdoms” by Suleika Jaoud
- “What’s Mine and Yours” by Naima Coster
June is Pride Month and to celebrate & commemorate, we launched a very special Yes to All The Love Pride Tote, supporting the vibrant LGBTQ+ community and the work of the Human Rights Campaign. This tote sold out 4x in less than two weeks, helping to provide over $7,500 (and counting) in donations to HRC.

Last week we shared an update on our anti-racism work. I’m endlessly proud of the work my team has done, but more importantly, the work this community has done and the way you have rallied around not only our cause, but the related work to combat systemic racism, champion diversity, and fight for true equity.
So many of you wanted the opportunity to buy this special tote, so we’re bringing it back. We couldn’t agree more that this sentiment – and these incredible women – should be carried & celebrated year-round.
