Although it doesn't quite feel like fall here in NYC (not complaining), summer is now officially behind us and even as the warm air lingers, the seasonal shift is definitely underway. The city is bustling, pumpkin-spice everything is cropping up in the markets, and school is in full swing.
I'm loving the new season so far, packing lunches in the morning for my son James, now a pre-schooler (please send any and all school lunch ideas!!), in our FEED Lunch Box, walking to work in the mornings, which are starting to carry just a hint of chill, and diving in with my team as we gear up for what's ahead – it seems already that the holidays are just around the corner, and we have so much to share with you...
Here's what I've been loving and living in, this past month.
Next month we're launching something big that we've been working hard to perfect – we even involved our social media family last year to help design it. I can't wait to start carrying it every single day... Join the waitlist, so you'll be the first to know when it launches.
Lately I have been loving our FEED Backpack, which now comes in three incredible colors. Throughout the summer and especially now with the new fall shades, it's my go to. It's chic and functional and best of all, hands-free, which is ideal as I'm always carrying something, or holding little hands on the go.
Last week, on the day of the nationwide climate protests and walk-outs (led by my hero, Greta), we closed down FEED HQ and did a beach cleanup with Surfrider Foundation. It was an incredible reminder of the ways we can all contribute and a real eye-opener about the reality of plastic particles in our environment. Plus, a great opportunity to celebrate the major launch of our FEED x National Geographic Collection (made from recycled plastic), earlier this month.
The "On Being" podcast features rich conversations about some of life’s biggest philosophical and psychological grapplings. It's deep, but also very spiritual and enlightening.
Friends of FEED:
Ever since launching our first Kids capsule collection, we've been thrilled to partner with our friends at Maisonette, to bring the pieces to their audience too. I caught up with my friend Sylvana about her career, motherhood and more, check it out.
A few months ago, I had the opportunity to travel with Paris Brosnan and my dear friend and long-time FEED supporter, Christian Courtin-Clarins team to Sri Lanka, where we witnessed the UN’s school meal program in action, which our partnership helps support. Paris directed a film about the experience, it's definitely a worthwhile watch.
