In setting out to create the perfect, highly functional, but still chic and versatile, Diaper Bag, Lauren asked around and chatted with some of her closest friends here in NYC to get the scoop on what makes the a Diaper Bag great and what they're always toting around in there.

As a bonus, she even jumped behind the camera and photographed them with their babes and the FEED Diaper Bag in action.

First up, our photographer (and fearless leader) herself...

The most important, can't-live-without, feature you look for in a Diaper Bag and why?
Diaper bags, more than anything, need to fit everything you need for your babe and do so in a manageable and ideally, chic, way. I constantly use FEED's prior diaper bags for my sons, James and Max, but was super excited to work on this new, improved version that is lighter and a bit larger, with the same pockets, changing pad, and great wipeable features.

What are things you always keep in your diaper bag (beyond diapers and wipes)?
A toy and a teether

Occupation: Food writer/Food & Bev Consultant, Partner Pound for Pound Consulting/Investor & Mama (my favorite job!)

The most important, can't-live-without feature you look for in a Diaper Bag and why?
Pockets!  I am a big fan of lots and lots of pockets, particularly on the outside, so I can easily grab Braxton’s water or milk without digging through his diaper bag.  That’s where I also stash my phone for easy access.
What are things you always keep in your diaper bag (beyond diapers and wipes)?
I always keep my phone, water, and wallet in the outside pockets of his FEED Bag. Inside, I keep a change of clothes, first aid kit (I’m a safety girl), a toy or two and plenty of snacks.
Manhattan or Brooklyn?
I’m an Upper East Side mom, but I take my kids everywhere – Brooklyn, Bronx, Mexico, California & Europe. It’s ambitious and sometimes stressful on the packing front, but I want my kids to see the world!
Matcha or coffee?
Both!  I religiously drink two cups of coffee in the morning to function. (I am not a morning person by nature, but as every mom knows, it’s not optional!)  After lunch, I have a cup of matcha tea as a pick me up, and more importantly, because it has a ton of antioxidants and a million other health benefits.  I’ve been drinking it for almost two decades, so I guess I’m ahead of the green tea trend.
Complete this sentence: I am a mom on a mission to: Find balance! I don’t want to miss out on the joys and wonders of the young years, but I still want something for myself. Like almost every other mom, I want my children to be happy, healthy, stimulated and to feel loved, but I also need some time for me every day.   I don’t think I can be an amazing mom if I don’t also have something for myself, something that makes me feel like I have an identity separate from being a mom, too.
